Brachium is a three way floorstanding speaker.
Brachium is a closed-cabinet loudspeaker with drivers of Wavecor .
The kit is delivered with the following drivers: - a Wavecor TW030WA14 tweeter - two Wavecor WF182CU13 mids drivers - two Wavecor SW215WA02 woofers
The loudspeaker has been developed by Dennis Frank and Daniel Gattig.
The crossover consists of: - a 2nd order high-pass filter (12 dB per octave slope) for the tweeter. - a band pass consisting of a 2nd order high pass filter (12 dB per octave slope) and a 3rd order low-pass filter (18 dB per octave slope) for the mids-woofer. - a 2nd order low-pass filter (12 dB per octave slope) for the woofer.
The frequency response of this speaker is perfectly linear.
The decay spectrum as shown in the waterfall diagram is exemplary, free of any disturbing resonance.
At low volume, i.e. 85 dB at 1 m, the nonlinear distortions are below 0,3% above 300 Hz and doesn't exceed 0,5% at 95 dB at 1 m between 300 and 15000 Hz.
"Contrary to what the name suggests, the Brachium is not a spectacular box that jumps to the listener right away. The true quality of the kit is revealed after a longer period of listening, for example when you realize that the deep basses on the early Moby albums "Play" and "18" are reproduced in full magnificence and depth, without any boom or uncomfortable pressure on the ears. In general, the stimulation of room modes is much easier to get to grips with here. Thanks to the two 8-inches in the bass, there is enough dynamic potential for loud listening sessions in larger rooms. The midrange also has enough dynamic reserves, as the available membrane area is also quite large: especially voices and the fundamental tones of natural instruments are reproduced very authentically. Especially in old Blue Note recordings like "Kind of Blue” by Miles Davis the listener can indulge himself wonderfully and at the same time enjoy the excellently implemented spatial representation. And the very broadband dome tweeter fits perfectly into this very relaxed, very harmonious sound. And this harmonious coexistence of the chassis is maintained up to truly impressive volume levels. With the Brachium, you get a loudspeaker for the music lover who wants to arrive for the material cost of almost 1000 euros per piece. The focus here is not on the fast, impressive consumption of music, but on long-term and sustainable enjoyment."
"Inexpensive and very relaxed loudspeaker for long evenings with music, which may also get loud once in a while."
the crossover components (right), to be mounted on a small wooden board.

The high-end kit is delivered with baked varnish air core coils on important parts of the crossover for minimizing microphonic effects. - The current flow through the coil creates a magnetic field which sets the reel of wire in motion. This motion induces a voltage in the coil which adds itself to the signal. The stiffer the reel of wire is, the less the signal will be altered. The capacitor for the Wavecor TW030WA14 is of type polypropylen (MKP) Mundorf Mcap Supreme EVO Oil 800 V.
Kit with high-end-crossover without cabinet, price per speaker on request
If you want to use a valve amplifier with this speaker an impedance correction should be employed. In this case the component quality is less important; therefore, we offer only one kit (upon request higher quality components are available).
Price per impedance correction for one speaker, to be mounted on a small wooden board. EUR 14,80 excl. VAT: € 12.44 / $ 12.81
If you prefer to mount the crossover components on a universal PCB instead on wood PCB 220x155 mm, order no. I-8805002, price per unit: EUR 11,80 excl. VAT: € 9.92 / $ 10.21 We recommend one board per kit (2 boards per speaker pair)
